USPS Cancelled Click N Ship label -Relax it is ok.

This is about Click N Ship as a postage option. AND what to do if you get a dreaded your label was friggen cancelled notice.  Relax. It is ok.

  • I shipped and mailed then got this "your label is cancelled" notice.
  • Bummer.
  • I redid lable with another credit card and mailed again.Got the same notice.
  • I talked to USPS they said to be sure you click label printed OK or it autocancels. They said to clear cache too..but that's a bit trickier.

If this happens to you..just DO NOTHING and they will send you a postage due. Pay the lable, it austomatically updates. No problem, man.

Here is official response from USPS:

 

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting the USPS Internet Customer Care Center regarding your cancelled label. If you shipped your package with a label that was cancelled, there is a possibility that your package will be delivered as addressed.  When the carrier scans the label, you will be notified via email that you have a Postage Due for the cancelled label.  To pay the outstanding postage, you will need to log into your Click-N-Ship account and follow the on-screen instructions to pay for a Postage Due notice.

Please note that one of the main reasons why a cancellation may occur has to do with failing to answer the question at the end of the printing process "Did your labels print correctly?"  If you do not provide an answer, the system will time itself out and cancel any labels that were printed. 

Also, after you put in your CVV (security code) for your credit card make sure you are using your mouse and clicking on the "continue" button on the screen, please do not use your keyboards enter key during the check out process.  Be sure that once your label prints, you click "YES" that the label printed correctly.

If you have previously entered an incorrect expiration date or CVV number, you will need to close your browser and clear your cache and cookies before trying again.

If you have a stored credit card in your Click-N-Ship account, we suggest you completely delete the card and any labels you have in your shipping cart, clear your cache and cookies, and re-enter the card as if it were a new card that you are using.

Should your package get returned, please remove the cancelled label and replace it with a new one before trying to mail it again.

So long story short, if you get a cancel notice, ignore it. The USPS will likely ship and send you a postage due. You pay and voila all done.

Some other thoughts...

WANT to mail a First Class parcel?

  • WHAT If you had no ebay payment? How can you mail via Paypal?

Simple. Have someone email you one cent via Paypal. You use the payment to ship a package (uh change the address first, tee hee, unlpess you are mailing to them).

  • This is good for mailing first class parcels. You can use Click n ship for priority.
  • This is good for mailing RETURN first class parcels. Always document via confirmation any EBAY returns. 
  • This is good for mailing anything you want a confirmation or to do online postage.

It costs the minimum of the first class postage rate plus the amount of the confirmation.

My opinion on Click and SHIP versus Paypal

The Postal employees get real hung up if EBAY is involved. They scan USPS labels more often AND you can set it up to notify you by email the status updates. You can do this after the fact.

IF you send Priority or Express mail, Click and Ship (i.e postage from USPS website), they do a better job of tracking it. Therefore although it is easier to mail via Paypal, sometimes I use Click N Ship.

If you had no ebay payment (either use the one cent payment method to get around and use Paypal shipping for carrier of your choice) or use Click N ship.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between Paypal USPS and postage direct from  USPS?

  1. With Paypal USPS labels, the USPS scans ONLY when delivered. They do not offer much customer service and sort of disdain EBAY labels.
  2. Click N Ship can be tracked (by the people at USPS) much better...so if you need help more likely to get better tracking help via their 800 number. Downside is having to cut and paste address/email.
  3. Paypal is automatic.
  4. Paypal allows customer to "see" item has been shipped.
  5. PAYPAL allows you to mail first class parcels.
  6. YOU can use Click N Ship without a payment being made, i.e. like to return a package.
