I recieved a e-mail this morning from a e-bay buyer on a items I'm selling. Currently I have no items for sale. So
I open my e-bay account and someone has stolen my account and retrived my password to list a motor cycle for sale. I contacted e-bay by e-mail and sent the e-mail I recieved from the buyer to spoof@e-bay.com. I also wrote a fraud assistance to e-bay to let them know this item was not my item and someone stolen my user id and password and listed the item on my account & they had my password to access my account!!!. Also that any charges for the listing better not be applied to my paypal account. I have changed everything possible so no one could access my account, but if the idiots did it the first time what's going to stop them next time and the time after that!!! We are not safe from identity theft. Protect yourself and your passwords!! My husband sent a e-mail to the e-mail on the listing page that they gave which was different from our e-mail address and told the idiots that we will procute them for fraud and identity theft.E-bay needs to respond in a more timely manner and catch the crooks doing this to everyone! This is not the first time I have recieved fradulant e-mails for people requesting to close a auction early and sent them money orders or western union. Also I have recieved an e-mail that my item I paid for was declined. When I opened my paypal account it showed the item paid in full and shipped!!!! The idiots sent me a link that looks exactly like a e-bay page to update my account info and add a new bank account so my account won't be locked or closed.Thank goodness I checked my paypal account before filling out the page they sent me a link too. Please never sign in to links go directly to e-bay online and open your account through e-bays home page. Watch your account closely even if you haven't signed on in a few days check your account and change passwords for logging at least once a week to protect yourself!!!!! Also change your paypal passwords frequently too. If they can steal a User Id and Password to access my account they can do it to you!! Don't be a victim learn from what I have experienced and what I'm telling you!!!!!
