US M-7 M-9 BAYONET COPIES

For over a year now there a lot of M-7 & M-9 Repro Bayonets (Knockoff/Copies). Thats fine, but be aware of this as some sellers do not indicate that it is a reproduction out of 440 stainless steel. With China knives  most commonly you see 440 Stainless Steel. 440C was the first generally accepted knife makers' stainless and remains quite popular, particularly since the sub-zero process was developed to add toughness. 440C produces an excellent, serviceable and durable knife, even for the new knife maker. Anneals at very low temperature. Please note that 440A and 440B are similar alloys, often confused with 440C, but not worth a damn for knife making use. Commercial knife companies often mark blades 440 when they're one of the less desirable versions, giving the real stuff a bad name.

These Bayonets may look nice on you rifle for show but as a survival or hunting knife they are CRAP. Remember they will look good a first glance but look a little closer and you will see. What is the Blade/Tang like...Full? What is the Handle like, Hollow? Git-R-Done!

Look on ebay for a used original at $29.95, you'll be more pleased with the "OLD SCHOOL" quality of Made in U.S.A. Ask around you neighborhood to see if a Veteran wants to part with one.
