I sold a watch for $122.00 on ebay I was very happy because I sold the watch for a profit. Then UPS came in and lost it all for me.
I tried to ship watch with USPS but could not complete the transaction it would not print label. So I walked to UPS store and shipped the watch to Canada for $15.93 I was now out of pocket for $11.17 because I used UPS instead of USPS. But I was O.K. with that because I made a profit and thought the extra money I spent would make this a better sale in the end with a positive feedback.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!
Now it gets worse when the package arrives at the buyers house in Canada an Canada wants $18.00 duty fee ( which the Buyer had no problem with) but then UPS tacks on another $35.00 delivery fee from the buyer for a grand total of $53.00 for a $122.00 watch. Of course the buyer refused delivery and I sent him a refund. So now I paid $24.56 to send my watch on a round trip to Canada and back to me.
UPS store failed to mention all these extra fees acted stupid like "really they charge those fees" then gives me a liability speech that "UPS stores are independently owned and we can not control what other stores charge." I know I should of known better but UPS should state this stuff right up front and not hide behind liabilities and ignorance of other UPS stores. If the USPS did that they would be out of business or sued to oblivion.
So please learn from me and stay away from UPS Store when it goes international. Or get everything in writing so they can't throw it back on you. It is sad they use these tactics like this to make money on something as simple as mailing a parcel.
