Country Code Abbreviations may be helpful when you ship internationally, and at times those codes are difficult to find when using some standalone software such as Shipping Assistant.  Even though these standard abbreviations recognized the world over, as used by airlines and business alike, they are not yet used exclusively by postal services for sorting mail.

When shipping internationally by common carriers such as Fedex, USPS, UPS, and others internationally you may find this reference list helpful when it comes time to identify a Country Code on their respective airbill, but using them alone may delay handling
