For any new riders there are some un-spoken rules to observe until you get riding time in.
Most are common-sense but you meet all kinds of people out there. I know when you're out riding, especially by yourself, that whenever you see another bike out its almost instinct to try and catch up to show off your ride and give a nod. Just try to follow these simple guides and everyone will respect you more.
Never come up from behind a rider in the same lane especially at high speed. Even though the lane is big enough for two bikes, that is reserved for your riding partner which you have become accustomed to. I dont need some newbie trying to keep his balance on my side.
If you pull beside them at a light to say your greetings, when the light changes, let the first in be the first out.
Pass only in the other lane, never in same lane unless your ask to.
If you feel you need to blast past me on one wheel, fine, just stay in your lane and get the hell on.
If you happen to be in the lead role and notice a pothole or foreign object in the road, please just lower your arm and point to indicate this to those behind you. Another good reason not riding two up in same lane. Dont need you freakin out and suddenly whipping over my way to avoid that dead skunk.
Ride like you are invisible because the cager is always waiting until the last minute to pull out in front of you. You MUST remain alert far down the road at all times. Remember, with a bike and a car, quess who loses.
And if you see me sitting on the side of the road, don't walk over and plant your butt on my ride without asking. I mean I didn't twist your ol' ladys nipple did I?
Riding is a way of life, not just a mode of transportation for most riders. Learn, earn, and respect those around you and you will get the same with saddle time.
You would think most riders know this stuff but looking at the Mutant Teenage Ninja Turds I see out on the road, I quess not. So if you know someone new to bikes, pass these on and maybe help save someones life down the road.
Keepin the wind in your face.
