Okay welcomre to my Unsane ways I have learned to save on Ebay.I am about to tell you my secrets,in return please vote if this was helpful. I am a stay at home MOM, decluttering my home and getting paid to do so.

I know Ebay can be a tad overwhelming at first there is so much to learn , where to start, and how to start can get confusing.Take baby steps with my secrets and you will be flipping your STUFF in no time.

First if you need to go through the house and collect 10 items you think will sell.Start with kids clothing NO junk,if you wouldn't be happy buying in that condition DONT sell it.

If you love Garage sales thats a great start too, always pick up COSTUMES and save to sell in mid September .Old wrestling movies are a hit,Beatles stuff- I sold one record for 300.00 2 more for 130.00 whoo-hoo!Don't go overboard spending to sell , start with what you have. It's funny i sold a pair of my brothers old WORN out skate shoes for fun they were trashed which i never sell anything in this condition but i was honest about condition and did it for a FUNNY they sold for 30.00--it led to weird questions from sellers but I laughed all the way to the bank!

If your home is FULL of STUFF and NEED to declutter I but are lost at where to strat I suggest checking out Flylady website its free and gives great tips to declutter then sell what you ca,clean house FULL pocket..Life is good.

I love Garage sales and it got to the point where i could not hide stuff my strorage room was WAY too much, take baby steps and list 5 items FRI 5 on  SAT5 on  SUN, follow my steps and sit back-watch the money come to you.

ALWAYS wash items before shipping,be honest in listings pointing out ANY flaws.

I would suggest waiting to open an ebay store , it costs 15.95 a month and you don't want to go in the hole before you get started , so wait until you build your skills.

You can use Auctiva -which is linked with ebay to provide you free picture hosting and a scrolling window advertising your other items, you also can choose from a variety of FREE templates to pretty up your listings. All FREE no catches ,it also allows you to make profiles meaning you can store your info in a profile to easily upload info in your listing without having to retype it all. For example-your shipping methods and prices, payment details, and requirements. Also you earn .25 for every order that purchases insurance.

I have sold on Ebay for about a year and there were months where I owed $90.00 for fees,WOW I decided I needed to revamp my plan and reduce my fees. Here is what I learned.

You can choose how many days to list an item 1-3-5-7 or 10 as the days increase so do the prices, I used to always list 7 days thats .70 so I started listing on Fridays as a 3 day listing as most people shop on the weekends and if you list on a Friday for 7 day listing as your item will be newest listing and have the most days left it will be on the bottom of the list when people are searching for your item, by only listing for 3 days you save on fees and get more exposure for the weekend shoppers.

Also when listing for 7 days that gives people to much leeway to find a similar item ending sooner, when people want something impatience sets in and they don't want to wait 7 days to wait till end of auction they will simply go somewhere else.Unless you feel your item is UNIQUE and would benefit in a longer listing .

When listing items that are similar IE clothing you should sell as a LOT, when people buy they hate shipping so if they are able to get more  for there shipping charges they will. You can use the Auctiva site to benefit in multiple pictures for FREE .

Pictures SELL your item take good pics and you can edit rotation or lighting and cropping by clicking on pick to PREVIEW then choose options, although when using Auctiva editing pics is not as easy.

Always use Gallery it might cost a little but your item will sell at a higher rate,as people browse they look at pics before title it's natural.

Start your listings LOW at least .99 to cover listing fees but to attract more buyers, everyone loves a bargain it could be a lil risky if you want more for your item but if you list high they will go elsewhere and you have to come out of pocket for fees.A buyer is gonna be more willing to watch and bid on an item that is a STEAL, and it's fun to watch them fight bid over your item,NEVER use reserve that is a BIG turn off.

2 things I suggest as a good investment is a mannequin-which you can get on here for $20.00 ( I got a torso womens mannequin) that's all you need..And a postal scale $20.00 you dont really need one that weighs over 30lbs,keep it cheap. The reason I suggest a scale is you can weigh and get postage from home and either have it picked up or drop it off at the PO.After making a sale package your item(i get a pack of 3 shirt boxes comes with card and tissue paper with jcpenney logo)for .99 at BIG LOTS.Where I also buy shipping tape $1.50 a roll.Weigh your item make sure you TARE your scale first then check weight mode make sure it is set in lbs ,then go to your SOLD page and click on PRINT label it will auto direct you to paypal where you need to sign in then it auto brings up invoice enter weight and method,You can use first class if it weighs less than .13 oz.like a shirt this is cheapest if more than that use parcel post, media mail is cheap but only if shipping books, tapes cd's records, etc. Then click size of box,use first option PACKAGE or THICK envelope unless your box is LARGE dimensions which probly isn't check lick on site for dimensions.Even when you think the box is large if it don't meet req' your wasting ALOT of money,I learned the hard way.Check accuracy click and print be patient or you will print more than one label follw prompts. This way also auto gives delivery confirmation but charges .14 (it's worth it)cut out label tape to package DONT tape over barcode.Fees come out of paypal account no need to play beat the bank by tranferring funds and keeps ebay seperat from your account.

Also if using paypal request the debit card that way if you are buying supplies etc for your account it comes out of your paypal account using your card, keeps money seperate from personal account,NEVER merge accounts keep ebay money seperate or you could go under, always  keep a lil cushion in paypal when it is time to pay ebay fees they will take auto from paypal. No hassle for you but DONT mix money.

Offer shipping discounts for multiple purchases dont overate charges be fair and you will get more, for ex. i charge 2.00 each additional purchase ebay auto combines items and shipping on invoice but you need to look at invoice and CLICK on each order for customer then PREVIEW to make sure everything looks good then send invoice.

Always respond to messages and ship promptly after auction ends,FEEDBACK counts.Always go out of your way to provide good customer service,if item has not been paid for and it has been 7 days file a dispute DONT wait or time will not be on your side -it is NOT rude to file a dispute but it saves headache later, generally they will pay quickly after.Always be polite, remember typically everyone lives paycheck to paycheck--be courteous!

I hope this has helped I will try to add more secrets weekly , be sure to vote if this was helpful. All your questions are welcome I will try and help.Happy Selling.
