An Unopened Mint Set is a Set of Coins sealed in cellophane containing the current years coins. The envelope is not sealed by the Mint allowing for inspection by the buyer. In days gone by it was not uncommon for dishonest resellers to remove valuable coins and replace them with washers or slugs then seal the mint envelope when the buyer opened the envelope and found the deception the dealer would refuse to refund the money something about "ORIGINAL PACKAGING" so word got out that when buying sealed mint sets to run a strong magnet over the envelope before you open your sealed mint set.A practice that I continue to this day and suggest that you do to.
