When you work with as many quartz crystals as I do, you start to notice that they do not all look the same.  One major way that they differ is in their termination pattern (the way they come to a point).

In addition to having their own individual metaphysical properties according to crystal type (i.e. amethyst, angel aura quartz, aqua aura quartz), crystals can also hold extra metaphysical properties based upon their configuration.

The truth is every crystal is unique and carries it own signature vibration, just as we do.  However, there are some recognizable patterns that have been noticed among crystal configurations.  These patterns have been investigated b the same kinds of intuitives who have given us other collections of metaphysical properties.  Some general understanding has emerged regarding trends in the energy they tend to carry.

The patterns are too numerous to completely cover here.  I will highlight some of major importance.

Channeling Quartz:                                         

A channeling quartz crystal can be recognized by its main seven sided front face and three sided face directly opposite on its back.  It is thought to promote precise connection access of universal wisdom. 

 Isis Quartz:                                              

An isis quartz crystal has a 5 sided face on its front. The most common appears as a triangle, but if you look closely you will see that two corners of the triangle are not pointed and have very small sides, giving the face a true sides.  There are also forms where you will see a large face with a symmetric pentagram, but these are harder to find.  The isis crystal carries an energy of balance and is thought to be a gift to our earth to balance the energy of current masculine social power with feminine power!

Window Quartz:                                                   

You can spot a window quartz by the large diamond shaped face at the front of the crystals.  They promote the synthesis of the spiritual and physical realms, so that we might see beyond the illusion of our worldly experience.  They are particularly seeing beyond issues of ego and self-image.

Generator Quartz:                                         

Generator crystals have six approximately symmetric faces that join together in a point.  Quartz is inherently an energy amplifier, and as this name indicates, these crystals have an extra tendency towards this property.  They are often used in pendulums and by healers.  They are also excellent tools for meditation and to raise ones vibration.

Double Terminated Quartz:                        

A double terminated quartz has naturally formed terminations at both ends.  Herkimer diamond is that always forms .  These crystals move energy quite well and for removing energy blocks within the body and aura.  They are also thought to promote intense dreaming, astral projection and deep meditation.
