OK, so this is for small children. Supposed to have some educational value, although I heard that is questionable, I say maybe FUN learning for K-2nd grade. BUT..I bought it for myself! I love to stare at the stars at night and just have a hard time sleeping, sometimes I feel like my room is just a box. I read complaints about the Amber color not being as bright as the Blue and Green selections, but if you let your eyes get adjusted to the darkness and not compare apples to oranges, actually Amber has a more realistic and softer glow. And yes these are "pointed" kidsy stars, but still they make the ceiling and walls look just great. It was allot larger than I thought. Has battery life timer for 45 minutes. I wish it stayed on a little longer. I could not afford the more expensive celestial projectors so this had to do. It's pretty neat actually, and for a party to throw stars on the ceiling and all. but the room has to be dark. I also bought the ..there's a moon in my room, night light. that's way cool too..both available on Ebay for about $30 each. But because these night lights are on timers... because they run on batteries... I also bought the day invisible glow in the dark paints, to paint star dots in white and a purply-blue nebulae cloud. so when the lights finally time out.. my "night sky" will continue. These paints are also available on Ebay! so all you night sky enthusiasts..ENJOY!
ps yes it was very nifty but after 2 months, as I read from other site reviews Mine started malfunctioning to not working at all. Made in China of course, no company logo to get in touch with, not the seller's fault just cheap manufacturing. sad, I really liked it, but for the price, should of lasted Longer!
