Recently, I've been involved in a few auctions in which the seller has stated that he will not accept bids from anyone with a 0 or negative feedback rating. As a seller myself, I can understand the restriction. I have had a few deadbeats bid on my items before. But what of the auctioners that are just starting out? Or those who are not sure what they're doing yet? My mother had her first eBay account suspended because she wasn't sure how to complete the auction process. She had won 5 or 6 auctions all within a few days of each other and didn't know how to go about payinf for things. Now, granted she could have and should have contacted the sellers, but being a novice she wasn't really sure how to do that either. 6 seller complaints and 6 negative feedback posts and bye-bye eBay. Eight years later she figured it out and has been happily buying and selling as a part of the eBay community.
BUT HOW DOES THAT HELP ME!?!?!
The best advice I can give you, is to become a buyer. There aren't many people that will buy from someone with 0 feedback. Stick with "Buy it Now" listings that you can pay for immediately with a Paypal account. Proving that you can and will live up to your end of the transaction, earning a positive feedback score. The more you do this, obviously, the more positives you'll recieve. Your score goes up and it will reflect on your standing in the eBay community.
I'd also like to offer my help and any advice to any novice eBayers out there. You can always contact me and ask questions, even if it doesn't pertain to any of my auctions.
Good Luck!
