Beware of persons committing fraud on ebay selling Dish Network receivers.

Always email the seller for the R00##### string; then, check with Dish Network Technical Support at 1-800-333-3474 (DISH) follow voice promts to select "Technical Support".

Give the Tech' Support representative the R00###### string and ask if the receiver is a former leased equipment and if it has any balance owed on it.

If you buy a leased Dish Network receiver; then, Guess What?

You don't own it! It is still the property of Dish Network!

Some sellers will say: "I don't care, I purchased an estate sale!"

That doesn't change anything! They have no right to sell leased equipment which is still property of Dish Network.

Dish Network won't release ownership simply because you mistakenly purchased the receiver that the seller didn't own!

If Technical Support advises the receiver is not "leased equipment" of Dish Network; however, the former account holder still owes an outstanding balance on the service received with that receiver; then, you will have to pay-off that balance if you expect to establish an account using that receiver!

Be a cautious consumer and check first before buying trouble!
