Hello! I thought I would share some information concerning John Steinbecks' classic novel "East of Eden". If you are in the market for a true first edition, please check out page 281 line 38 and look for the uncorrected version of the word "bite" that is used instead of the correct spelling of "bight". Also, the first editon is a green color without the dust jacket (actually I think it is an ugly green, sorry),and it was published in 1952 by Viking Press. (I think Viking printed all of his first editions, but not sure). Would appreciate any comments on that to help ME out!!! Hope this little tid bit of information will help you as you collect, and make sure of the value of a book you own, or are thinking of buying. Hard to believe a mistake can make so much of a difference in the value of a book! Regardless of what copy you own, make sure to take the time to READ the book. My personal opinion is that East of Eden, and The Grapes of Wrath are the best of Steinbeck. Regardless, thanks for stopping by, happing reading, and God Bless! Mystery Woman Enterprises.....
