Cheryl's career, classy & classic store
I have a page in my store with more fashion highlights, item # 110040959131
I put this together to try to help show some of this years top fashions and having spent years dressing my mom who lived in black because she was unsure of what to wear with what
I thought this might help.. but it is just a guide. wear what you like, what feels good and what makes you feel great.. that's what fashion is really about..
Just remember for sleaker lines, if you like me do not have pencil thin legs opt for the wider cut leg in a longer length it makes the legs look longer and thin, slighly lower rise ( not like the teens are wearing) but just below the belly button makes for a thiner middle, if you love skirts, look for ones with a straight cut threw the hips then have pleats or flares, this also will help with thin lines. One of the biggest mistakes I see is too tight jackets or sweater trying to hide the behind, big mistake it just accents what your trying to slim down, leave them open, so they flow and hang straight.
if you are like me and are short waisted don't shy away from petite sizes, at 5'9 I often buy petite slacks, the rise is shorter and I don't feel like the waist is up at my eyebrows, are they too short, of course, but if they have a nice wide leg I wear them for cropped slacks, there is a fine line between cropped and just plain too short, I try to make sure they are 1 to 2 inches above the ankle so they are true cropped, anything closer just looks like to short of slacks. and with this years hot trend in boots they are perfect!!
CHUNKY KNITS
There's a gorgeous femininity in this season's weighty Aran patterns and crafty Fair Isle knitwear
Long cardigans - a great alternative to a coat
Fair Isle - team sweaters with couture silks for dress-down glamour
"A belt is a good way to give shape to cardigan coats and sweaters" - Anna Cryer, executive fashion editor
GREY
Grey is the designers' shade of choice, and no wonder: restrained, chic, edgy - its subtleties allow for eclectic interpretation, whether sharp as steel in silk or soft in jersey knits
Pintucks and pleats complement grey's cool sophistication
Mix shades and textures for a more directional look
Choose hosiery carefully - sheer styles are a flattering option
THE NEW SMART
Get ready to sharpen up your act as daywear sheds its casual guise for a sleeker, more uptown look. The result is refreshingly modern
"This is a sophisticated look that is polished but doesn't shout money: the antithesis of bling" - Lucinda Chambers, fashion director
Accessories add punch to ladylike styles: think stacked bangles, towering heels, oversized bags and long gloves
Cinch layers at the waist for added shape
A pretty chiffon blouse adds a soft touch
As you can see long flowing skirts or knee length skinny's or wiggle skirts are in, along with boots and wonderful sweaters..
I have alway's loved the feminine side of fashions and am glad to see them stay in style.. now with this know how ONWARD and off on a shopping hunt for fall trends and great styles! Happy shopping!! cheryl
