I have been making Tree Topper Bows for 18 years now.....even before they were so popular. Toppers are a great way to accent the top of your tree, giving it fullness and flair and also allowing you to play a little with the other "toppings" you may want to add.

When I was decorating for the folks who own the Christmas Shoppe in Pigeon Forge Tenn I would dress the tops of the trees with flowers, ting, holy, willow, twigs, etc....anything on a long stem.( I also did the same for Tis' The Season, which is the offspring of the big store in Tenn. that the owners would open throught the East during the Holidays...Maybe you had one in your Mall,)....You can take a 6ft tree and easily make it a 9ft tree just by adding longer stemmed elements and you use your Tree Topper bow to help hold the other elements in place. You can also easily still use that beloved Christmas Angel that you may have used for years. You just bend the loops of the bow out of the way letting just 3 or 4 stand up straight....chances are your angel has a hollow body so you just sit her on top of those loops and she sits perfectly, rising up out of the bow.

Some folks think that they need 2-3-4 bows to top their tree...Nonsense! A bow that is tied in a round shape will work perfectly. It takes Atleast 35 yards of ribbon to make abow this full and round!! You dont want your bow to look propped or like a crown. You want it to be incorporated into the entire scheme of the tree. Your bow should be big and full enough to bring it directly down into the top of the tree...facing it towards the ceiling - not facing it one-sided toward part of the room. Then once it is secured bring the loops down and incorporate them into the taller limbs of the tree. For a skinny or thin tree....same process...I would just suggest a thinner ribbon and a smaller bow....but the shape would still be the same.

A Tree Topper, when properly taken care of can last you for years!! However, most of my clients change their tree decor about every 3-4 years and with that comes a new bow. Now, you dont have to change everything...Say you use Red and Gold and you would like to change to a Country theme.....Just change that bow to a pretty Country Plaid , add some apples, cookie ornies and Gingerbread men and "ta-da" a Tree with a whole new look!!!

Fell free to email me for more tree ideas!!! Have fun designing your Holiday decor...try something new, add a little flair and always, always Make It Joyous!

Please dont forget to VOTE for this guide!!!!!!!Thank You!!!
