When you are selling and buying Marbles on ebay you will find that there is a lot of different opinions about the Marbles out there. I found that most are just looking in books and some are writing books on Marbles that they have or have seen in the past. Then they price them by what has sold in different actions and such. There are a lot of Marbles out there that are so rare that not even the best Marble dealer can ID them from the books. When pricing your best Marbles you should look at what is being sold on Ebay  because most will be there for you to refer to when pricing. Books are a good thing but do limit the ability to find many that are rare and one of a kind. There are all your basic and popular kinds which we all know, but I know from my digs that there are many that some day will be noticed as one of a kinds and are not published in some book. You may have some of these same Marbles and I will be looking to buy them when you don't know what you got. So exsplore all the possibilities and do not put your Marble on ebay until you know if there is one out there like it. Then make sure of  what you are selling because I have seen alot of Marble where the people say one thing and they are not what they say they are. You know what I'm saying, New Marbles in the Old catigories. Well some will buy now knowing their Marbles . Since I wrote this guide I have even tryed to sale some of my more valuable marbles and buyers don't want to pay the money that they are worth. Mostly because the market has just gotten swarmed with German swirls, Latticinio, and Machine made marbles that are popular right now. If you watch the Actions you can find some good deals right now. Marble collecting has droped some since I was digging the good one from dumps. But don't pass up the chance to find local dumps in your area or even the older School yards  are a goood bet for digging marbles. Find feilds the are next to the schools because like what  I did when I was a kid. I shot lots of marbles accross the pavment into the feilds. I have done this and have found some nice marbles..... Hay goood luck on you Marble hunting and don't forget, if you give away one marble you will get ten in return. That way you never loose all of you Marbles       Ha ha ha          Peace  Chuck
