Daily I read on the blogs people asking whether it is worth it to have an eBay store.
Well, in this seller's opinion, it is still the best bang for the buck offered on eBay. Here are 5 reasons I think a store is a really good deal.
#1 It is so much cheaper to list items as store inventory than to sell them at auction. That is the most important reason and should be enough to entice a seller to have a store.
It is important to note that this is true only if you have more than a couple of items to sell. The basic store subscription is just under $16. If you only had 16 items to sell, your listing cost thru the store would work out to be $1.00 per item plus a listing cost of either 5 cents or 10 cents depending upon your price of the item ( 5 cents for anything $24.99 and under, 10 cents for anything $25 and over, no matter how high it goes). But if you had 160 unique items, that would put your listing cost at 10 cents plus the listing fee. And if you had 1600 items, that would mean it would only cost you 1 cent plus the listing fee! So the more you list, the cheaper it is to list. A basic store can hold thousands of items! And any multiples of an item (exact duplicate) costs you nothing to list if you just add the amount to the quantity, changing it from quantity of 1 to whateve amount you have on hand. This doesn't apply if you list the same thing more than once in your store ( I see alot of people do that and do NOT understand why they pay more to list the same thing multiple times?????).
#2 Gallery pictures for store listing are WAYYYYYY cheaper. For any item listed as store inventory, a gallery picture is just one penny. That's right 1 cent! Now that is a true bargain considering the current price of a regular gallery picture for an auction type listing is 35 cents!
#3 Stores are a great place to warehouse your inventory. At these inexpensive prices, it pays for you to list everything you have and leave it in there for sales 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
#4 If ebay offers a listing sale, it is simple to change your listings from store inventory to auction and you can take full advantage of a sale by doing this, since your listings are already made!
#5 eBay gives you a free subscription to Selling Manager with a store. This is a very cool tool to help you with listings and MUCH more. You have to subscribe to it, and it looks like they charge you, but they actually give you a rebate each month on the subscription.
