=======================================
Important Info:
First of all I would like to start this off saying you should never buy any item that has copyrighted images on it that where not made by the seller. This is also know as copyright infringement. You can get in big trouble for using copyright images with out permission from the maker.
Always remember to leave in all copyright information intact on any item that you are asked to.
=======================================
What you need to know:
When you buy an auction template or strore front basic knowledge or understand is always helpful but not always necessary. There are three things that you must have. One is the well to learn, second able to follow simple instructions and the third is asking for help if you get lost or confused.
Copy And Paste: One of the most important things you should know when using the internet and edition html.
A: Copy (Ctrl + C) and Paste (Ctrl + V). "Copy" copies text from a text source and places it in a virtual clipboard in windows.
"Paste" places the text in the virtual clipboard into the active text area.
*Sometimes you can right click and click select all, right click copy then right click paste.
=======================================
What you will need:
1. A VALID email address : This is the most important without an email address you will not get your questions or order. Sometimes emails can go in your spam/bulk folder so before you flip the handle about not getting your item contact the seller first. Never leave feedback or do a complaint with paypal until you have talked to the eBay seller about your order.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2. Unzipper : Most of the designers send your auction order in a zipfile.
Windows XP comes with its own unzipping tool.
There are a number of resources available to unzip files. *Offers 4 FREE
http://www.winzip.com:Winzip is the standard of the industry for the Microsoft windows platforms.*
http://www.pkunzip.com:Pkunzip is the ms-dos version if you prefer to work in dos.*
http://www.aladdinsys.com:Stuffit is the Mac version for unzipping files.*
3. Html Editor : You will need an html editor.
The most popular free html editor comes free with windows.
Notepad: Every Windows PC since 3.1 has notepad on it. Start Button > Click Run > type: notepad
IMPORTANT: Word is not a very good editor. If you use word html might get misplaced or mixed up
Turbo Lister: Is a great free editor free from eBay.
InkFrog/Sparedollar: If you have a inkfrog/SpareDollar account most sellers will customize your template for free to work with your account. Then all you have to do is type in where you want your information.
eBay : You can edit your html right in eBay when you list as well.
5. Editing the html : For each seller this may be different but they all use tags!
In the hml of your order you will see what we call TAGS in the html. Any good seller will place the tags to the
left of the html to make it easier for the buyer to find where they need to type their information.
For example:
<!-- Type your title here -->
At the end of the last arrow you would type what you want the title to say.
Like this:
<!-- Type your title here -->This is my title 8 pairs of jeans. Hot new price!
You would do this for all the tags
Description
Title
Photos
Terms
Payment
Shipping
6. Adding Images into Html : The photo tag depends on the designer.
You would find your photo tag(s)
<!-- Begin Photos -->
I recommend typing after the last arrow.
After the arrow click with your cursor and begin typing the URL of the photo image(s) you want to use in the auction.
If you want to use more then one image to your auction template you will need to add this image tag after your last image you added.
<img border="0" src="http://www.yourhost.com/photoname.gif">
So added in your images into our template should look like this:
For one photo it should look like this:
<!-- Begin Photos -->
<IMG src="http://www.yourimagehost.com/1.jpg">
For more then one photo it should look like this:
<!-- Begin Photos -->
<IMG src="http://www.yourimagehost.com/1.jpg"><p align="center">
<IMG src="http://www.yourimagehost.com/2.jpg">
To make and take out spaces for images:
In the html you will see this
This is a space in html. If you want to add a space between photos you add
after the images. To take out spaces you just take out the
Example:
<IMG src="http://www.yourimagehost.com/1.jpg"><p align="center">
<IMG src="http://www.yourimagehost.com/2.jpg">
There are many ways to add photos to your order that is just one way that I explain it.
Tips And Tricks
1. To add music to your auction or strore:
First of all you will need a song first. You can go to Google and type free midis and you will get a long list of links to visit.
After you find what you want to use you will need a place to host it. You can find a free host by going to Google and typing in free hosting.
Once you have uploaded your midi to your host then open up your htm. At the very top of the htm you will need to paste this:
<bgsound src="http://www.YOURHOSTHERE.com/Yourmidinamehere.mid" loop="-1">
Loop = Is what you would like the song to do when it is over.
-1 = is forever meaning it just plays on and on over again.
1 = Is the sound will repeats once
and so on and so fourth.
2. Editing Images - This is important!
Your picture means everything since you are selling online that is all the buyer has to look at.
We do not recommend any photos any larger then 400 to 450 Wide.
Due to loading time not everyone has a broadband connection a of people still have dialup.
Resloution size is important too so that customers do not have to scroll to see your item.
Easy To Use Resize photo software :
<marquee behavior="alternate" scrolldelay="93" direction="right" scrollamount="5">This Is Where You Type What You Want!</marquee>
Type what you would like it to say where it says :This Is Where You Type What You Want!
behavior is the the way the scroll behaves: alternate Scroll or slide
direction is the way the scroll goes up down left or right
