Needles and thread keep us in stitches but did you know:
- When things go wrong after ripping out a seam use a clean lint roller to pick up loose threads. Masking tape also works well.
- Don't moisten your thread as it could unravel ~ moisten your needle, but not with your tongue!!
- Having trouble running metallic/specialty threads through your machine? Try using a topstitch needle 90/14 or 100/16. Also reduce upper tension.
- Try running metallics, yarns, ribbons, other embellishments that won't fit through your needle through your bobbin. Use caution doing this ~ do not put anything through that could cause damage to your needle.
- Always use good quality thread. It will run cleaner causing less lint build up. Don't blow into your machine to remove dust bunnies ~ always use a small soft bristle brush.
- Be careful using nylon thread ~ it can melt! and over time may yellow.
- Needles and thread are the least expensive part of your project so always use good quality. Be sure to put in a new needle when starting a new project and change it often
