Almost every seller on ebay will tell you that ebay fees are costing them way to much money! Well, those extra fees have to be passed on to the buyers on ebay! Remember when you would search for things on ebay and find "The Best" deal! Whether you are a buyer or a seller or maybe even both, I'm sure you've noticed the rising cost of items on ebay! Well, that's because Ebay raises their fees WAY to often!
I'm going to give you 4 tips that will save you TONS of money! And when you save money, so can your buyers! Which of course means more business and sales for you! I'll make this as short as possible, but if you need any help with anything, feel free to email me and I will do anything I can to help you with whatever you may have trouble with! But, this is very easy and all you really need is a little common sense!
#1-The most common mistake sellers make on ebay is when they set their starting price on an auction! Did you know that lowering your starting price by just $0.01 can save you up to $1.20 on your insertion fees?
Here is a list of the insertion and final value fees. If you will notice just one penny can make a big difference! For instance you want to start your auction at $10.00! If you start it at only $9.99 you will save $0.25 on your listing fees! So if you item sells for only $9.99, you've actually made more than you would have if you started it at $10.00! The same goes for your other auctions as well! Another hint: Try to avoid reserve price auction! Start the auction at the minimum price that you will take for your item. Yes, you may have more bids, but if a buyer wants your item they will pay what you are asking! Plus buyers don't like to enter a bid and see "Reserve not met". Lots of buyers will leave your auction and look somewhere else! Not to mention the HIGH cost for listing with a reserve!
Print the insertion fee prices or save them, and keep them close by when you are listing! In the end you will save a lot of money by lowering your price by just one cent!
Starting Price Insertion Fee
$0.01- $0.99 $0.20
$1.00-$9.99 $0.35
$10.00-$24.99 $0.60
$25.00-$49.99 $1.20
$50.00-$199.99 $2.40
$200.00-$499.99 $3.60
$500.00 or more $4.80
#2-Never Pay To Add Picture! Your First Picture is Free, and Here Is How You Can Add Even More Picture FREE
You can also view my other guide on "How To Add Pictures Free"
All you need to do to add free pictures, is go to photobucket.com where you can upload unlimited pictures! After uploading your pictures, click on "Slideshows". This will open a new page where all you have to do is click on a green icon to add the pictures you want to your slideshow! When you have added all of your pictures, click "Save Slideshow". This will take you to a page that has automatically generated HTML codes for you to use! Simply copy the code and paste it into the HTML view of your listing page! This is where a few people have run into problems and asked me for help! Follow these instruction carefully and you won't have any problems! Paste the code into the HTML view page, anywhere you want your slideshow to be seen, top, middle, bottom, it doesn't matter! Now, Hit the space bar key ONCE! Now, click back on Standard View! You will probably see a small icon that says "Get your Own", but your slideshow WILL NOT APPEAR UNTIL YOU CLICK "SAVE AND CONTINUE" There is nothing wrong with your code! It is simply not activated until you save and continue and depending on your internet speed, it may not be available until you have submitted your listing! If you see the small "Get your own" icon, you have done everything correctly! The best part is Photobucket and all of your slideshows are totally FREE! You never have to pay 15 cents per picture again! Add as many as you want and you can even add text to describe what is in the picture! (Ex. Side View, Front View, etc.) Remember if you need any help feel free to email me and I will help you get started with your FREE pictures!
#3-Make your listing compelling and describe your item will as many details as you can!
I know that listing your items can be very time consuming, but keep in mind the more information you put in your auction, the less time you will spend answering questions! Once a buyer finds an item that they really like and place a bid, they begin to feel like it is already theirs! Therefore, if they are outbid, then they are more likely to enter a higher bid!
#4-Do a spell check when entering your item title! If you have Google Toolbar it only takes a second! If you don't have Google Toolbar you can download it free!
Yes, it's true there are tons of people that intentionally misspell words when doing a search! That's because so many people are typing fast and don't think to check their spelling! They find No Reserve auctions with low starting bids and misspelled titles. It's good for the buyer but the seller loses money! So, always check your spelling in your title!
