We started collecting insulators three year's ago, we have compiled a few tip's and ideas to pass along to everyone who may be interested in collecting, buying or selling insulator's,

1. For buying /collecting, be extremely cautious and educate yourself before bidding wildly!! There are, in this hobby like a lot of other's "fakes and reproduction's, altered and stained item's around! Whether you want one of those items or not is up to you but we suggest educating yourself so that you are more comfortable with your purchase!!

There are numerous on-line resources to help you learn so you can have a better knowledge and understanding of what your bidding on, and that alone will make your E-bay experience with insulators so much more enjoyable. Some great sites include;

a) www.insulators.com
b) www.insulatorscanada.com
c) www.glassian.org/index.html
**d) www.insulatoremporium.com

The owners of web-site **d) are also the author's of the hobbies most informative/comprehensive price guide and other great insulator related reading material.

There are several more awesome web-sites and a quick internet search using your favorite search engine can help locate them.

2.For E-bay selling, Education once again is key, as well as lot's of great clear photo's include any picture's of damage as well as mentioning any and all damage in the description, keep description's easy to read and understand, if possible include some provenance (info on the insulator's history like where it was found). Insulator collector's are amongst the greatest collector's out there and most are more than willing to help so ask question's....lot's of them!!

There are so many different insulator's out there so don't get discouraged and overwhelmed when looking for info, check out the fore mentioned web-site's & ask question's.

I hope this helps your insulator experience on E-bay to be an awesome and more easily understood one.

**Disclaimer "Collecting insulator's can be very addictive.  so be cautious because once you start you may not want to stop"!!   :)

BY THE WAY The Items To The Right Of This Guide Are NOT Our's
