HI! That's me, Tonya, on the FAR RIGHT of this page with my pet bird, Rosy, on my shoulder.=) WELCOME TO MY eBAY GUIDE.=) I specialize in helping others to get started with an online eBay business. It is so easy!

eBay is one of the best places for anyone to make extra money. One can start on eBay by simply selling unwanted items that are lying around their house. That is exactly how I got started on eBay! Once you have found an item to sell on eBay, it is now time to list your eBay auction to turn your unwanted item into some good cold hard cash!!!

Timing Is So Important

When is the best time to start and end an eBay auction to ensure that you are getting the most exposure and visitors to your listing? Is a 7 day auction better than a 3 day auction? These are both very good questions that many sellers have asked and struggled with.

Through trial, error, and researching other auctions, I have learned that it is best to list a 7 day auction to ensure that your auction gets the oppportunity to be seen by more people throughout the week.

It is also a good idea to have your auction end on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday because these are the most days that people have gotten their paydays from work and many people are off on these days as well.

I also recommend that you end your auction between 10pm and 1am eastern time. This way your auction will be seen in all of the different time zones in the United States late in the evening before many people go to bed.

For Example:

Let's say that you are selling a 4 pairs of NIKE Tennis Shoes. I would recommend that you do 4 separate auctions that will span through all 4 of the time zones in the USA--ending between 8pm to 12midnight in each time zone. (Pacific Time Zone, Mountain Time Zone, Central Time Zone, and Eastern Standard Time Zone)

If you follow these simple suggestions, you will get more watchers, more visitors, and ultimately more sales!

Start your 7 day auction between 9 pm-1 am Eastern Standard Time. This way the auction will go through the entire week cycle and end at the same time that you started it. If you have a 5 day auction--I recommend that you start it on Tuesday at 9 pm-1 am Eastern Standard Time and if you want to do a 3 Day auction--simply start your auction on a Thursday night between 9 pm-1 am Eastern Standard Time.

Just remember that 7 day auctions will give you more exposure over the entire week. 10 day auctions will give you 3 extra days of exposure, but they will also cost you an additional 40 cents. You will do just fine with a 7 day auction--plus save a little money as well!

I also reccommend that when you do an auction--have a Bidding Price set and a Buy It Now price also set--that way your customers can have the option to either Place a Bid or End the Auction Early by simply Buying It Now.

Conclusion:

Lastly, setting your bidding price low can encourage more bids. Another option is to set your bidding price $2-$3 cheaper than your Buy It Now price. This strategy can also drive the bidding price up past your Buy It Now price. Try both of these methods and see which one works the best for you.
