It works rather like Pay and go, you aren’t locked in to fees every year for what you don’t use, so you have all the benefits and none of the drawbacks of the older timeshares where a developer can be captive with the management fees.

Purchases through Hutchinson & Co Trustees. Viva is until 2035, you can use 4 weeks a year any unit size, you don’t pay a mandatory maintenance fee, rather a reservation fee when you choose to use it, so if you don’t go you don’t pay anything and if you do go you pay £255 for instance for a 2 bedroom apartment for 1 week, less for smaller units as per the web site.

So, you don’t have to buy 4 weeks and forever be lumbered with 4 management fees, you just use what you need each year.

There are no seasonal restrictions although there is an additional charge of £95 when booking a peak school week.

It can be used Worldwide as per the web and there are bonus weeks too which are on a live list on the web site.

There is a membership to Viva each year of £59 but no annual exchange membership fee or exchangebooking  fee is required.
