Tiger Tail and Acculon Beading Wire #12

Tiger Tail Beading Wire #12 is a 3 ply flexible strand wire. It is a good wire for flexibility without kinking. It holds 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm beads really well. It is strong enough for both earrings and bracelets. Below are some links that will take you to our wire here on Ebay. There you will find alot of difference size wires in different colors. You can't always find #12 on the listing so the way I tell the difference is this way, if it is 3 ply and flexible then it is like the number 12 wire. It works well for lightweight bracelets and earrings. If it is 7 strand or ply it will hold the heavier beads. #10 wire I have found is the best for those dangle earrings, it is much easier to work with and will hold the very tiny crimp beads without noticing very much. The tiger tail beading wire comes in a lot of different colors. It also comes in silver and gold colors. I have added Acculon wire to this for a good reason, even though it isn't as easy to find it is very inexpensive and it is a quality 3 ply wire for making beautiful earrings.

Acculon wire is a fantastic wire in #12 for dangle and streamline earrings. It is 3 ply that resists almost completely kinking and creasing. If bent it can be straightened right out. It is a very strong wire that cuts easily fits most all 3mm to 8mm beads with no problem. I like it best because you can even use the tiniest of crimp beads on it. I used a 1.5mm crimp on this and it works perfectly for dangle earrings it is alot less noticeable then the 2.0mm or 2.5mm crimps. If you type in Acculon beading wire you will find Acculon wire in a variety of sizes and colors. It isn't as easy to find in the #12 wire but it is worth searching for. The price is real low for this wire, unlike some of other brand name wires.

I really like the wire for it's flexibility in making earrings and bracelets with the size beads I listed above. It works well for making dangle style earrings that can be tied onto earring wires or crimped onto the earring wires. The 3 ply flexible wire is good for keeping tied in knots. It does not come untied it ties easily into a tight knot. It also is a good size wire to crimp with crimping beads. The three strand wire works well with 3mm crimping beads.

Tiger tail #10 wire is great for making earrings that dangle. I like the 3 ply wires even better then the 7 ply wires for dangle earrings. It gives the earrings more flexibility. The 7 ply wires are a little to stiff and the dangle earrings do not move and swing as much as they should. With the 3 ply wire it doesn't kink or stay bent, but it will move and twist more. If it does bend out of place a little it can be instantly bent back without kinking.

Swarovski 4mm beads

These Swarovski 4mm are a good example of the size and type of bead you can use with this wire. It is suggested though that you do not use bigger then this 4mm size. This link above will take you to some of these beautiful beads.

This size wire also can be used with 1.5mm and 2mm tube connector beads and spacers. The fit nicely and tightly onto the wire yet loose enough the slide easy into place.

Silver mesh spacer beads

The picture above shows the 4mm sterling silver mesh spacer beads you can find here on Ebay under the search sterling silver beads.

This wire is strong enough with just enough flexibility that if a knotted loop should slide off it can easily be slid back on without a problem. Just like a link or a jump ring can be slid back on.

It cuts really easily with scissors or wire cutters.

Rondelle spacer beads

These beads in the picture above are examples of the 4mm rondelles we have here on Ebay. These are sterling silver spacer beads. They are a little more expensive but it is because they are more brillant then the plain silver beads.

This size #12 wire works well too in making bracelets with 2mm, 3mm and 4mm beads, if you use a bigger bead I would suggest using the Tiger Tail #14. It is flexible enough it doesn't kink but strong enough to hold the weight of this size beads and a clasp.

Beads, spacers, tube connectors

This link will take you to the spacer beads and connectors we sell here on Ebay. There is a big selection of beads and spacer beads. Just about every kind of spacers, round, roundelles, tubes, crimps and even clasps and lobster clasps.

I prefer to tell you about the wire and what size it is and what beads can be used on it. There are so many different types and kinds and sizes of wire and what size beads can be used on it and what type of jewelry can be made with it, that it can be confusing. So just getting to the basics can help a beginning beader alot. To explain all the kinds of wire and beads can be overwhelming.

Cat's Eye beads 4mm

Cat's eye beads 6mm

These heavier gemstone beads or as in above cat's eye beads will work real well with this size wire too. 4mm is the largest size to put on this wire. Cat's Eye beads are a semi precious bead in very soft colors and finish. They come in many different colors. They are a man made bead.

This wire and the size beads can make many many different kinds, sizes and types of jewelry so it is a very good size wire for the beginning beader. This is how I started it can be confusing if you don't use trial and err method and start small and work up to the more complicated things.

I think this will be of help to a beginning beader and I sure hope it helps to get

you started. It sure helped me once I learned the basics.

Handmade Beaded bracelets

An example of jewelry made with 4mm beads and 3mm spacers. As you can see this is a real nice size bead and the Tiger Tail wire will hold this size bead. This bracelet is using Memory wire that is why it is in loops, I used it for an example of the bead sizing. This is the best way to start if you don't want alot of time and frustration at first. It is simple and easy once you learn how to glue the end bead caps on the wire end quickly. That can be a challenge at first.
