Tie my shoe? Didn't I learn to do that as a kid? Sure, we all did. But my mom taught us to tie our shoes with a "double knot" that will not come loose in normal wear, but can be untied but simply pulling the two lace ends at the same time. I have created this easy step-by-step guide with photos, in hopes that you too, will find this a geat alternative to the other methods used!
Step-By-Step Method
-
With the shoe on foot, pull laces to a comfortable tightness.
-
Hold right and left lace in corresponding hands
-
Place left lace over right lace
-
Drawn left lace through loop
-
Pull both laces tight
-
With lace now held in left hand, create a loop, like a rabbit ear
-
With lace held in right hand, draw over and around left loop
-
With forefinger of right hand, push right lace through middle loop creating another "rabbit ear" loop
-
Shift left loop to right hand and pull the right loop through center loop with left hand
-
Pull loop (now in left hand) up sufficiently to allow entire loop to be wrapped around loop now held in right hand
-
Push left loop through center hole
-
Pull both loops tight
-
You're DONE!!!
