Springtime is a great time to throw a baby shower because of the many themes that you can use, such as ducks and baby bunnies. The products you need will be easy to find because of Easter, and they can be relatively inexpensive. I recently helped to throw a baby shower using a duck theme and I hope these ideas might be helpful to you. First of all, decorations. You can buy rolls of paper tablecovers in many colors, and on top of that, you can use colored paper placemats, alternating between your theme colors. (Such as yellow, then blue) You can find a stamper with a picture of a duck on it, and stamp the corners of the placemats. Online, you can find many pictures that you can print out and make copies of to hang on the wall and to use on the front of the game booklets. Then just use colored ballons, ribbons and streamers to compliment the decorations. A good idea for a game using a duck theme is buy some inexpensive rubber ducks Check out the ducks and a baby bathtub Click here for baby bathtubs. Fill the tub with water and let the ducks float. On the bottom of one of the ducks, write the baby's name (and if unknown, just write baby). Line up the guests a few at a time and let them pick a duck. The person that picks the marked duck wins a prize. You can just put a few ducks in, say maybe ten, then have ten people line up. After the winning duck is picked, just replace the ducks in the tub and have ten more guests line up. It's much less expensive to throw a baby shower with a few other people helping, to share expenses. You can split the costs down the middle, or you can each decide on what to buy and do it that way. Ebay is a great place to find prizes for games that don't cost a fortune. It just takes a little research and planning, and you can throw a baby shower that the mother to be will be thrilled with.
