Many kids dream of one day being a movie star making this theme a dream come true. This theme is especially good for a sleepover party.

Below is a suggested menu, but of course you should try to tailor it to the preferences to your child and the other children attending (if you know their preferences).
Main Dish: Popcorn Chicken or Pizza (If serving chicken offer some sauces such as ketchup, honey, and barbeque. Offer Parmesan with pizza.)
Side Dishes
Popcorn: Make on the stovetop, in an air popper, or use microwavable popcorn. Use small bowls for each person or paper bags (decorated by kids as described in activity section) to give a feeling of really being at a theater.
Theater Candy: If it is in your budget, get some boxes of candy like the ones sold at the theater, which of course can be found much cheaper at grocery stores. You can also buy in bulk at places like CostCo and Sam’s Club.
Veggie Tray: Even if you cannot get the kids to eat them, the parents that attend will appreciate the effort. Serve with ranch dip or you could use cheese dip (works great with broccoli).
Cake: One can be ordered from your local grocery store. You can of course make one using you kids favorite cake mix. Decorate it with film reels, stars, and popcorn (made with frosting, as the real stuff probably would not taste good on a cake). You could also add characters from one of more of your kid’s favorite movies.
Popcorn Strings: You can make a true popcorn string like often made during the holidays or you can make one with paper popcorn.
Table Centerpiece: A table centerpiece can be as simple as stacking some of your favorite movies. Add some real or paper popcorn around them and perhaps some stars. Example picture below.

Welcome Sign: The sign can be a simple Happy Birthday sign if the party is for a birthday. My favorite wording to use for a movie party is "Lights, Camera, Action!” Let the kid(s) make and decorate the sign.
Dress Like A Star: In your invitations invite the kids to come dressed as their favorite star. Another alternative is to provide costume items such as glamorous sunglasses, scarves, and plastic jewelry. Have the kids walk down a red carpet (or whatever color your flooring is) to where you are showing the movie or having cake.
Movie Marathon: You can show a short one for a regular party or several for a sleepover party. Pick some age appropriate movies from your own collection of a rental place and let the kids vote on which one(s) to watch.
Invitations
I offer Movie Themed Party Invitations, as seen below, in my store that can be personalized. You can also have the kid make their own invitations. Send out a couple weeks before party. Make sure you give address and/or directions to the party, as well as phone number for parents to call to RSVP or if they get lost.Food
Some think the decorations are most important, while others think the activities are the most important part of a kid's party. Although all are important, personally I think the food is most important. You do not want to deal with a bunch of hungry kids. Believe me they are the toughest.Below is a suggested menu, but of course you should try to tailor it to the preferences to your child and the other children attending (if you know their preferences).
