Recently, within just a three-week period nearly-identical D-Guard Bowies were listed in "Civil War (1861-1865) > Original Period Items" as a "TEXAS Civil War Era D Guard Bowie Knife WJ McElroy 1864" (Item number 160043028646), a "Virginia Civil War D Guard Bowie Knife Blacksmith Made" (Item number 280039630579), and an "Original North Carolina D Guard Knife LARGE 18" RARE" (Item number 130038465050).

AMAZING! Even more amazing is that two were listed at the same time! All "PRIVATE BIDDER" auctions...hmmmm.

THREE virtually identical D-Guard Bowies from three different states with three different sources of manufacture (McElroy, "Blacksmith made" and unspecified maker) all exhibiting absolutely identical design and nearly identical patina and aging surfaced in a period of just three weeks.

Two of them were even photographed against the same fabric! How "RARE" is that!
