I've been selling on eBay for almost seven years, and I'm frequently asked by new sellers what advice I can give them to help insure fast sales and more profit. So, here are a few of the tips I give them in hopes that they might help you also!
1.) Offer Free Shipping~Last year L.L. Bean posted record sales...Why? They offered free shipping. I used to have a neighbor that wouldn't buy anything from a shopping channel or on eBay. Why? Because she didn't want to pay for postage. Never mind that she had to pay for gas to go shopping, put mileage on her vehicle, use up extra time that she could have been using for something else...And many people feel that way. But if you offer free shipping, they'll buy something in a flash. If you're not ready to incorporate this into your entire marketing plan, then try it first on a few selected auctions, preferably ones where your item weighs 13 ounces or less and you can ship it First Class Mail which is much less expensive. You just might find that your increased sales volume easily makes up the difference for offering free shipping.
2.) Offer Limited Time Offers~Many buyers may want to buy something from you, but they just need a little extra nudge. A good way to do this is by offering a limited time offer. This can be accomplised by shortening the length of your listing, by limiting quantities available or any other means that may help the buyer to make a final decision and quickly. If they're sincere about buying, offering a limited time offer may be just the approach you need to make the sale.
3.) Offer Buy It Now~I am always amazed at how many of my buyers use Buy It Now. People lead busy lives, and many times they want to make a purchase so they can move onto doing something else. That's when your offering Buy It Now could make a difference in your getting the sale versus the next buyer.
Well, I sincerely hope these three tips will increase your sales. If you feel that this guide has been helpful to you, please consider taking the time to vote. And, last but not least, have fun selling on eBay!
