I have to comment on feedback. There seems to be a perception by a few sellers doing business on eBay that feedback must come from the buyer; before they leave feedback. From my vantage point, this is not the case, and never will be. I had recently purchased an item on eBay and the very day I picked the item up at the post office I got an e-mail from the seller asking me to leave feedback, and then he would leave feedback. That really made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It made me angry because I should have received postive feedback already; before I even received the merchandise! Think about it: as a buyer I have one obligation when I make a purchase...TO PAY FOR IT. When I buy something on eBay, I purchase with Paypal, the seller has his/her money up front, and I have put my faith in them that they are going to ship the item in a timely manner in the condition which they described. At that point I should get positive feedback because my obligation in this transaction is completed. After I've gotten the merchandise, I will make sure I've gotten what I've paid for and then leave feedback. What is so hard to understand here? It's just good protocol.
And let me digress briefly. What is feedback? It's something that tells others whether or not you're a good neighbor, if you are honest or dishonest, if you are responsive, pleasant to work with; all these things. It is NOT something any of us are automatically entitled to. Do I want positive feedback? Absolutely. Do I want to leave positive feedback for others? Absolutely. Honestly, I've never left anyone negative feedback; nor neutral feedback for that matter. In my opinion, every effort should be made by the parties involved to resolve their issues BEFORE damaging their reputation. I've had only one transaction (as a buyer) that didn't go so well. But, I thought about it for awhile and instead of leaving damaging feedback I elected to leave no feedback. I could live with that because I did understand part of her side of the issue. But having said that, I still reserve the right to leave honest feedback: Good, Neutral, or Negative. And to the two sellers I bought from recently, I'm waiting for your feedback to me, not vice versa, but if you elect to not leave feedback at all, well, that's your decision. But don't expect any from me.
