This guide is intended for ear lobes only and will only help you if your flares are one gauge bigger than your holes. If your flares are larger than this you would need to use a taper in the shower to help them expand then insert your jewelry with the following suggestions
We've had a lot of questions about how to get a flare that is bigger than your gauge into your smaller hole.
Your lobes will temporarily expand painlessly if done the right way. Heres some steps that work well for us and our client's
1/ Please be sure to clean your plugs and tunnels with dishsoap. ( this is the best cleaning agent for body jewelry )
2/ Get ready to take a shower ! The steam from a shower gets into the lobes and acts like a elastic...becomes flexible and bounces back.
3/ After you've been in the shower for approx 5 mins lather up your ear lobes and your jewelry with some soap.
4/ Insert the flare on an angle slowly. You will feel that your lobe's are more elastic. Once the flare is in, your hole will close in around the gauge.
5/ Rinse your lobes and jewelry thoroughly, getting rid of all of the soap.
6/ Dry your lobes as soon as you get out of the shower so that they don't continue to retain water. This allows them to go back to your normal gauge.
The same applies to removing the plugs or tunnels. You will find it next to impossible to do if your lobes are dry because they have tightened around your gauge so once again, remove the jewelry in the shower lathered up with soap.
