All of the "Thirtysomething boxed DVD set for all episodes" that appeared on the market everywhere in 2007 on the shows 10th anniversary - Ebay, Amazon, DVDCollections.com, etc -- are not official studio release items. If they are represented as studio released they are fakes.
The studios failed to release an official boxed set in 2007, and therefore other suppliers stepped in to fill the demand. In 2007 one company released a boxed set that had every episode. The source material is just old videotapes made from over the air TV! You can spot these versions because in the description for these sets it will say "Video quality 8.5 out of 10" or something similar. Other bogus companies -- anybody with a DVD copy machine -- snapped up this first set and used it as source material for their own issue, copied it and sold it. Therefore you can find dozens of companies selling what is the same identical material but some of them are 10th generation copies or worse. This is why a search for "Thirtysomething DVD" on Amazon will reveal a mystery DVD with over 250 reviews with the disclaimer "This product has not been released yet".
These boxed sets sell reasonably for $38 or so and some up to $90. Just be aware when you buy one that none of them are currently studio releases and all of them have about average video quality. Nevertheless for the dedicated Thirtysomething fan they are all that is available and prove satisfying as long as you know what you are buying.
