So you are thinking about giving the NutriSystem program a try.  Hopefully this guide will help you learn more about NutriSystem and see if it is right for you.  I want to start off by saying that eBay is a great way to purchase some of the NutriSystem foods to either sample them to see what you like the best or to buy additional individual items, but to get the best results and most importantly keep that weight of you are gonna want to call NutriSystem and get on the program, not just buy food. 

So what is NutriSystem?

Nutrisystem is a food based diet that consists of all your meals pre packaged for you.  The prepackaged meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.  This is a home based diet, your days of high pressure center visits and embarrassing weight in are over as well as the fine print contracts.  NutriSystem takes a low Glycemic approach and perfectly portioned meals.  What does this mean?  It means there is no more giving up carbs.  NutriSystem food use low glycemic carbs, which means they have a lower impact on your blood sugar level and break down slowly.  Carbs that are high on the glycemic index can cause insulin levels to spike causing your body to burn up carbs faster and store fat.  So with NutriSystem you dont have to give up the foods you love.  There are well over 100 availible food choices from NutriSystem, definately enough choices for even the pickiest eaters. Again, eBay is a great place to pick up some different items to try, but you will want to call NutriSystem and get the program as well because to do this program correctly and maintain a healthy and safe diet you will be adding in your own fruit, veggies, and dairy.  Also when you enroll in the program you receive unlimited counseling right over the phone from the privacy of your own home for free.  When you get started with the program, on of there sales rep will help you in choosing the right program for you.  NutriSystem offers plans for men, women, seniors, vegetarians, and type 2 diabetic.  All the plans have different highlights that will fit different needs. 

There are a thousand other diet plans out there, why would you choose this one?  This program is the most simple program you could try, I mean everything is already done for you.  There is no way you can mess it up.  Jenny is a similar program, but when you compare the monthly cost, center fees, and contracts Jenny Craig does not measure up.  Medifast is another similar diet, but instead of food, you live on soups, pudding, and shakes.  Yes you will lose weight, but you will probably loss all your friends too because you will me miserable starving yourself on Medifast.  There is also L.A Weight Loss, which is a good program but very expensive.  You will have to pay for everything up front and sign contracts based on your weight loss.  LA is center based with very aggressive sales reps and you will be pressured to buy more and more.  Weight Watchers is also a good idea and it is cheaper, but you have to prepare all you food on your own.  It is just very complicated, at least for me anyways.  I mean if we really knew how to prepare healthy food and portion ourselves out we wouldn't need to be on a diet.
