As promised I'm going to keep you informed of any changes that occur with the eBay platform and also keep you up to date with the latest stats that I think are important and relevant to help you on your eBay money making journey.

I'm always checking out the latest stats with eBay because it never ceases to amaze me just how massive the eBay market place really is. Just yesterday I was having a look at some interesting numbers that I thought I'd share with you.

I hope these excite you like they did me!

As of December 2006....

There were 222 Million registered users on eBay worldwide

The total Gross Merchandise Volume for 2006 was a massive $52 Billion!

$1,812 in goods sold every second on eBay there were 6.6 million listings added every day.

At any given time there were 100 million listings world wide

And here's the categories at brought in the most revenue in 2006.

• eBay Motors $15.7 Billion
• Consumer Electronics $5.8 Billion
• Clothing and Accessories $4.7 Billion
• Computers $3.9 Billion
• Home & Garden $3.4 Billion
• Books and Music $3 Billion
• Collectables $2.8 Billion
• Sports $2.6 Billion
• Toys $2.5 Billion
• Jewellery & Watches $2.1 Billion
• Business & Industrial $2.0 Billion
• Cameras & Photos $1.6 Billion
• Antiques & Art $1.3 Billion

Now, if you're real smart and think about it, there's some very powerful information for you right here.

If I were in your shoes, I'd be looking very closely at some of these top performing categories and seeing if I could break into one or a couple of them and make some serious money.

The thing to remember here is that there are hundreds and hundreds of 'sub-categories' within these main categories. Just think about it...what else people might be interested in within these main markets.

Simply go to eBay's home page. Click on eBay Pulse (in the yellow section.) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'browse categories.' A page full of 'pure gold' will open before your very eyes.

Take a look at all the 'sub categories' and start your research. If you can't find a few hundred money making ideas here I'll come after you! ;-)
Seriously, this is how I find hot markets to research. Once I find something of interest, I simply use 'Terapeak Research' to conduct my research and findings and go from there.
