There are no actual, genuine new phones for sale on eBay.

Lots of "refurbished."  Lots of new plastic and "100% functional."   But nothing is really new -- as in from the factory.  If they say it is actually truly new -- they lie.  They mainly word things like a corporate lawyer so it sounds like they are saying new, but not really.

And boxes!  New in box means, first off, a refurbished phone.  And if you are thinking of the factory box with accessories and manual -- good luck.  You will get some box they had printed up with something that looks like the maker's logo on the side.  And inside will be the phone, battery, some really goofy charger (like a 240V unit with adapter) and some generic booklet they had printed that tries to cover a dozen models.  Why isn' t that new phone in the box it came from the factory?  Becuase it isn't new.  And a warranty, new phones have a factory warranty, right?  Ha!  Good luck.

And what does feburbished mean?  That means they buy a boatload of used phones.  They power each up and if it seems to work they slap a new plastic case on it, and it's refurbused!  That phone that was turned in because it hangs up when it gets warm -- it still will.  And it will have the same old worn-out battery it was junked with.  I even had one "new" phone that had a glass outside window instead of the factory lexan, not to mention a keyboard installed so crooked that the right row hardly worked.  Broke the glass the first week and they wouldn't refund me -- wanted me to try another "new" phone, let me roll the dice again.

So if you want a new phone -- get in writing it is new in a factory box with warranty --  or buy it locally.  If you want a used phone -- buy one from a private seller.  But avoid these 20,000 sale outfits, they are just recycling junk, like that "rebuilt transmission" that has new coat of paint and nothing else done to it.

(This guide is 100% accurate -- let's see if eBay will allow it, or if they conspire with the sellers?  I hope they don't.)
