All about the SAFEGUARD CROSS MEDAL

OF THE HOLY INFANT JESUS OF PRAGUE

Here is a full explaination on this medal, to share with you my knowledge about it. I hope you'll enjoy it.

1. EXPLAINATION :

Safeguard cross medal of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague, enriched with indulgence by our Holy Father Pope Pius X.

Maltesian Cross shaped medal, usually silvered brass, with an image of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague, surrounded by this invocation : "Holy Infant Jesus, Bless Us"

On the recto side of the medal are those words engraved;

a) "ET VERBUM CARO FACTUM EST" Terrifying words for demons, because they announce salvation of humanity by the Incarnation of the Son of God.

b) The initials of the words of Jesus; "V.R.S." , initials for  "VADE RETRO SATANAS" wich means ; Retire Satan! Above it is a Cross, symbol of Redemption. It's a still effective excorcism against the handlings of satan (all what's bad). Still effective because is evil still manifesting itself as much now as it did in the past.

On the verso side of the medal is ;

a) The cry of love and re-alliance of Saint Froncois de Sales; "VIVAT JESU" ; Live Jesus. The Holy name of Jesus is feared in hell. It's by invocation of this loving name that the apostles healed the sick and resssuscitated the death. The vertue of this Holy name has not lost of it's force, it's still powerfull for who's pronouncing it with faith and love.

b) "REX SUM EGO"; I am King. It's Jeus affirmation before the courts of Jerusalem. There are still people who doesn't recognise the Kingdom of our Savior. To repair this, say regurlary the words for wich the initials A.R.T. are engrave on this medal; "ADVENIAT REGNUUM TUUM"; May Your Kingdom come.

c) "AVE MARIA"; Hail Mary. It's through Mary we had Jesus, and it's through Mary, Holy Mother of God that come all of the graces. Demand through Mary and your prayers will be favorably heard.

2. FAVOURS:

Many are the graces of all kind obtained by wearing this medal, called Safeguard medal. People who worned it with confidence were preserved of grave accidents, others were healing by kissing it. Catholic church strongly recommanded in the past for it's people to wear this "protection-shield" on wich evil from any enemy would crash on it.

Recommandations for wearing it were:

Mothers of families; give it to your children, make them kiss it every morning and evening. Give it also to your husbands, so it is a safeguard for them in their work, their travels or fights.

The sick; kiss it with devotion, place it on your heart, repeat the words engraved on it, and you'll find great consolation and maybe cure.

Soldiers, sailors; wear it with confidence, it will be a protection in fights and a safeguard in the dangers of soul and body. Hundreds of your comrades had from it a good expirience.

Farmers; place it in your stables, in your fields, it will protect your cattle and your goods against epidemies and the eakes who bother and ruin you.

Aviators, automobilist, travellers; wear it on your heart, it will protect you from the dangers of the road and ot the airs.

This medal is also a treasure for the souls in Purgatory, through the indulgences given to this medal by Pope Pius X. Relieve with all our strenght the souls who suffer in the flames, souls so quickly forgotten. Never leave a day without winning indulgences in their favours.
