Ok, so you think you want to snowboard huh? Well before you buy a board go a couple of times renting one first. That way you know you will use your investment. Second: it shows you what kind of riding you will be doing the moust.
After a couple trips to the mountain heres what you need to worry about when buying your new board.
Where did you spend most of your time. My first time up I was on the blue slopes, second still blue but the bigger ones, third green and park, fourtth was diamonds and park. Fith and so on was moustly park. My first board was an all mountain board, although it had fair handeling in all conditions it was nearly inpossibule to ride switch due to the fact that it was not symetrical(identical when cut equally in half any way.)
after you know what type of riding you will be doing you can easyily pick out the right type of board for you.
Freestylers need more flex and a little more forgiving rids than most.
Deep powder boards are abule to stay on the snow better, and you have probubly read the rest before. There is no majucal "size". Some say that it needs to hit between your chin and nose, mine hits me at my shoulder. So go with what feels right and play around with size when renting. Also stay warm, and have fun.
