I have been on e-bay for some time now, and I like to buy coins, but I had never tried to buy a trade dollar, I have wanted one for some time, but never did get one, then I was on ebay one night and there was a nice one, but I did not know how to tell a real one from a fake, and had never seen one before that day, so I bid up to 500.00USD and won it for 100.11USD, then I found the "Guides" I had never seen a Guide on ebay before, well I got to reading about trade dollars, and how like 99% of them were fake, well now I was not happy about winning that coin before I had looked this coin up, so then I looked at the member I was buying the coin from and he was new, and had "0" feedback, I said ooo noooo, but I had already payed for the coin on paypal, well after a week the coin got to me, and I went on to ebay to see the members name again, and see about e-mailing him to ask were he got the coin and ask if he knows if it was real or not, but when I looked him up he was not a member anymore:-0 now I know he sold me a fake trade dollar, after a week or so I went and had it weighted and it was right on the money, and I looked at pic's. of some on the pcgs web site, and it looked to be real but it was to hard to tell, so I said why not try, so I sent it to PCGS, and after sometime I called them to see if it was real, and they told me that IT WAS REAL, so then I found out that it was getting a MS-63 WOW, I was very lucky, but now I know not to ever trust a trade dollar on ebay, I was one of the lucky ones, the coin I won was a 1877-cc trade dollar, and it now has a PCGS MS-63 on it, "thank god" it is a $9,000.00USD coin. and all I payed for it was $100.11USD. so remember sometimes on ebay you can win big, REAL BIG! "BUT PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST.
