A new version of the old 1953 and 1963 gold or yellow seal notes is making it's way onto ebay. In the newest version of this old scam, a seller is claiming to have a genuine BEP or mint error. They are advertising these notes as having come from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing with a blue seal and blue inked serial numbers. In fact what has happened is someone has treated or exposed these notes to chemicals or chemical fumes which interact with the dye in the seal and serial numbers, changing the color to a bright aqua blue. These are NOT errors. They are worth no more than face value! Please pass this on and hopefully you will not be taken by these less than honest sellers. For more info, see my guide on yellow or golden seal notes. I hope I have helped someone!.
