One of the main problems with the new policies and feedback rules at ebay involve the fact that buyers have no accountability, they can do anything they want to a seller and the seller is helpless to do anything. Many sellers with 1000s of positive feedbacks and a 100% rating have been attacked by competitors and just plain nuts who get off on destroying sellers.
The main point is that buyers do not have to be verified, they can sign up at will and start bidding, no id check is done on them and they can use anyones name to open new buyers accounts and make a purchase, the un suspecting buyer is in dismay as he cant figure out why his dsrs suddenly fell. Example:
A guy opens up 4 ebay accounts under different names, (remember, he does not have to verify who he is for a buyers account) then ge places bids with the target seller and wins the bid, now if he wishes to destroy the seller he can leave 4 individual bad feedbacks and 4 of the lowest individual dsr ratings.
Get the idea?, all of these feedbacks are bogus but will still count and bingo the seller is ruined.
I recently sold a one gallon baggy of vermiculite, a 4.00 sale with a full money back warranty on it, the buyer then emails me and tells me the bag was not full enough and that he planned to give me bad dsr's, I returned the email and ask him did he not see the extra bags that I had sent for free!, he responds that he dident see them at first, I knew he was a set up because he even gave me a bad dsr on communication, I never miss an email and always honor my sales, he did not give me a chance and my record was top notch before this happened.
I closed my stores and canceled my listings, if not I realized it could get worse and years of trying to keep my nose clean and customers happy would be for nothing.
