Small, random acts of kindness. Isn't that how the saying goes? It works in eBay too. We come together here on eBay for as many different reasons as we are in number. Several million of us, bring our hopes and dreams to eBay. Some of us come to shop. Hoping to find an item to meet a certain need. Others come here to sell things they don't need. Like a giant online flea market I guess. Some operate home based businesses here. Many of us buy and sell on eBay.
For many, eBay is an occasional place to stop in for a few minutes a few times a month or a year. For others it is a very important part of our daily lives. We are Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Sisters, Brothers, Young, Old, Retired, Students, Disabled, or just trying to pay the bills and working 2 jobs plus eBaying. But we all have our hopes, dreams, joys and sorrows. We all have our good days and our bad days. We suffer loss, and receive gain. Some of us are quick to tell everyone why we are here, sharing our joys and telling our stories. Others are very private, preferring to keep our personal lives to ourselves. But we all have feelings and we all get hurt when someone tosses a careless, hurtful word at us without knowing what our life is full of besides eBay.
Instead of thinking of a seller, or buyer as a ficticious name, try to think of them as a real person who might be our next door neighbor. We are all certainly a neighbor to someone some place. So maybe we could try to assume that each buyer and seller has tried to do their best. Before we give anyone a low feedback rating, because we think there's a problem, ask first. We have 90 days to leave a comment. That is enough time to try and find a solution to almost any problem.
And, if we make a mistake, wouldn't it be better to have the mistake be that we were too kind?
