Place sconce upside down on a flat surface.Place a piece of paper with the streight edge to cover the 2 keyhole of the sconce.Use the streight edge in your favor as a leveling line.With the pencil tip penetrate the paper where the holes are, this is your template.Tranfer the hole location to the wall using this template, and the pencil. These marking are the excat location where the mounting hardware will go. Job is done
