The eBook Delivery Process

Done correctly, selling eBooks is a great way to gain quality traffic to your online business. Here are a few simple steps to help get you started:

Preparing Your Files For Download

1. Organize all files you would like to send to your customer in folders. Then zip the folder(s) using WinZip or another similar program.

 2. Upload the .ZIP file you’ve created to the hosting server of your choice.   You may upload the .ZIP file you just downloaded instead to save you time if you like. It’s already organized & ready to go!

Listing Your Product On eBay

1. If your seller provided you with a Sales Page (We always do) then you can just copy and paste the HTML source into eBay's listing template and edit it as you see fit.  You can find the source code by opening the file with an HTML editor or clicking on "View Source" from your internet browser's menu.

The Delivery Email

Buyers today expect to receive downloadable products instantly. This includes eBooks! These are the main reasons why your delivery email should NOT be sent manually via an email attachment:

• People expect downloadable products to include instant delivery.
• Some people don’t know how to open attachments or their computer prevents them from doing so as a form of protection from viruses.
• Some people are really concerned about getting viruses from email attachments.
• You won’t be able to offer further services. (IMPORTANT)

Automating The Delivery Process

There are several ways you can go about automating the eBook delivery process. Some are free, some are not.  Here are a few that I have tried & my personal opinion on each:

1. eBay Digital Delivery:  This is available to everyone selling on eBay and is a FREE service. When you list your item on eBay choose “This is a digital item” within eBay’s listing preferences.  eBay will then allow you post the URL where you have uploaded your files for download.  As soon as the buyer’s payment has been received they will be provided with the link to download their product.

2. E-Junkie:  This program costs $5.00 & up per month based on how many products you choose to upload.  This system sends a download link to your customers to their primary Paypal email address as soon as you receive payment.  There are a lot of preferences that can be customized giving you the opportunity to link back to your store or website.  Works well.

To view my FAVORITE automated delivery programs an extended guide is available with every eBook purchase from my eBay Store.
