Education is one of the most important things that this world has to offer today, however, I believe it falls short in some areas. I've known people who are very smart and knowledgable, in fact I did well in school myself. But I have to say that nothing irritates me more than when you go to a professional for advice and you know more about the subject than they do. Why is that? Experience. Experience brings wisdom. For example there are so many different books out there on how to raise a child, but how many of those authors do you think actually have children? I had to take my oldest son for counseling for several years and we were tossed from counselor to counselor. After a year or so of each and every one of them telling me something different on how to raise my children I began asking them if they had any children. To my surprise only 2 out of the 12 that we saw through those long years had any children themselves. The first counselor was the most helpful and by the time I got to the second one with a child, I had been through so much experience she was asking my advice! I have had much of the same experience in other areas of my life and have come to the conclusion that the people who really can help are those who have been through it. That was God's design, not man's. So there is hope for those of us without a higher education. Our experience may end up helping just as many (if not more) people than those with one. I think the ones that would help the most are those with both.
