Zepplin
The Zepplin taped into tourist transportation and went on many sight seeing trips. It was able to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. It was actually a large dirigible (airship) and was named after the man who created it. He was a German born citizen and he built it in 1900, It weighed in at 25,350 pounds and had a cigar shape to it.
Count Ferdinard von Zeppelin began an airplane comany in 1905. During World War I zeppelins were built for war. They were used to bomb England and speciffically London.
These massive airships were filled with hydrogen gas which is very explosive. On May 6, 1937 the Hindenburg (another airship) exploded and burned with 97 people on board. Thirty - six people died causing the extinction of the zeppelin in general.
These airships were considered to be lighter than air. Zeppelins can stay still in the sky. The Good Year Blimp is a cousin to the Zeppelin but it is not a Zeppelin.
