Beware of the many fraudulant error coins on the market.
If you are like me and most other US Coin Collectors you will want to obtain an example of the 2007 $1 US Presidential Coin series 1st issue featuring George Washington, our Nation's First President.
Due yourself a favour right away...
Only purchase a Graded, Certified and Encapsulated coin from either PCGS or NGC and a word to the wise Buy the HIGHEST GRADE YOU CAN AFFORD AS THESE COINS ARE ESCALATING IN VALUE RAPIDLY ESPECIALLY IN THE GRADES OF MS-66, or MS-67 as these are the Highest grades known for these coins yet.
Be sure and get one for your Collection, Just be prudent as there are many reported cases of people machining these coins to replicate the mint errors and scamming the consumer. This is why you should buy graded coins as they are GAURANTEED TO BE REAL and both NGC and PCGS have released special holders for these coins that allow you to vie the totally bare, smooth edge.
I am not telling you not to buy any non graded errors in this issue, but rather want to remind my Fellow Numismatists that "If it seems to good to be true it Usually is". What I mean is if someone in Virginia has 100 of these errors to sell chances are good they might be man made error replicas as the only Federal Reserve Banks that received the errors from the mint were in Georgia and then they shipped them mostly to Florida Banks so chances of buying a real ungraded error from a bank roll are substanially higher if dealing with a seller in Florida. Remember your rules from EBAY 101...SELLERS REPUTATION, FEEDBACK RATING, AND OVERALL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION ARE THE BEST INDICATORS OF AN HONEST TRANSACTION.
JUST BE WARY, BUT ADD AN MS-65 or Higher NGC or PCGS Graded Edition to your coin collection as they will only appreciate in value over time.
