This guide is intended to shed some light on the various ways in which paranormally affected items express themselves. It will also clear up some myths and misconceptions regarding haunted items and energetically affected jewelry and other items.

Everything in our world has it's own type of energy and anyone who is spiritually or emotionally sensitive can easily pick up on those subtle energies. Everyone is either spiritually or emotionally sensitive to energy to some degree, though some have more developed senses than others. For example, if you lay your hands on a tree trunk, and you close your eyes and clear your thoughts, you will actually be able to feel the life force within the tree. It is the same with plants, flowers, animals, human beings, and inanimate objects. When an object is paranormally affected, it exhibits a higher range of what I call "energy throwing". That is, haunted and spelled items tend to be able to affect their environment in very dramatic ways. Religious icons, holy items, and venerated objects also throw energy in a similar way. This is because the more mental/spiritual/emotional energy that is put on a person, place, or thing, the more powerful it becomes. In the case of entity affected items, the energy is being thrown from the astral or etheric levels. In the case of venerated items and icons, it is due to both the astral and etheric level influence AND all of the energy being thrown on the item through the prayer and focus of thousands of people. It is a known fact of magick, that with enough attention and concentration, you can breathe life into that which is inanimate, but that's a topic for another guide...

When you take in a haunted or otherwise paranormally affected object, you are dealing with the expression of one or more entities through the vessel of an inanimate object. Since they are without form, they express their energy through a host vessel. It is important to remember, that these spirits do not actually LIVE WITHIN the actual object, but they instead use the object as a PORTAL through which to express themselves. Even if a spirit is "trapped" in a host, it does not mean that it is literally trapped within the vessel. It means that the spirit is locked into the idea that it can only express itself through the vessel, and because of this, it cannot move on. Those spirits who willingly haunt objects are willingly choosing an object through which to express their energy in this dimension. So for example, if you have a vampire bound ring or a spirit bound bracelet, these spirits do not actually live within the tiny piece of jewelry. They have simply chosen that vessel as their means of energetic expression. It is the same with us human beings!! We are not these bodies, but we express ourselves through them for a period of time.

That said, any seller who tells you that you need to worry about somehow disrupting the spirit inside a piece of jewelry through washing it etc., has no knowledge of the etheric realms. You can wash a haunted piece of jewlery or do the chicken dance on it and it is not going to affect the spirit within. Yes, spirits tend to get attached to their vessels, but it very rare for them to abandon the vessel all together because of a little bit of water or soap. If the vessel gets damaged ( the stone falls out of a ring for example), I sometimes will recommend re-casting or fixing it simply because it is important for the spirit to feel comfortable in their chosen vehicle of expression, and aesthetics can play an important role in that.

When a spirit is attached to a certain item, they will usually use the vessel as their means of energetic expression. This is why bonding with the actual item is very important. It is also why I recommend charging and re-charging jewlery if it is worn frequently. It is important to note that just because they are using a certain object to express themseleves and to connect, it is not their only means of expression. They can effect events in the outside world, as well as your emotions, and thoughts. When you first hold a new magickal in your hand, you will usually feel it emotionally first, then your mind will try to wrap itself around what you are feeling, then the next step is that you will usually experience something in the physical world to validate your experience. This could be olfactory, clairsentient, clairaudient, or synchronistic phenomenonon or a combination of all three in the event of highly affected items.

Please do not believe sellers tall tales of the physical phenomenon surrounding an object. I will tell you right now that an entity affected object typically throws energy as follows:  50% emotional, 30% external world phenomenon and psychic experiences, 10% physical phenomenon. By physical phenomenon I mean that the item will actually jump around, move, speak, or somehow defy gravity. Other than hot, cold, and vibrations, dramatic physical phenomenon within the object itself is EXTREMELY RARE. You are much more likely to see an apparition of the entity within the ring than you are to see the ring itself float in mid air.

Recently I have noticed that some sellers are getting video cameras, attaching magnets to their jewlery and holding another magnet in the air to create the impression that the jewelry is jumping around. I guess this is the latest version of the flames-shooting-out-the-backs-of jewlery trick. I guarantee you that if you happen to buy an item with such claims, that you will never in a million years see that happen in real life. Physical phenomenon like that is extremely rare because subtle realm entities-even those with the highest power- are not interested in putting on magic shows for their keepers.

When you have a true paranormally affected item in your hands, you will know it by the emotions that it stirs up within you as well as the concidences and psychic phenomenon that it brings up in your daily life.
