Hello to all the readers out there in eBay, and thank you for taking the time to read my guide. In contrast to my other guides, this will be short, sweet, and to the point. This is a list of what I consider the top 10 Canadian Key Dates. The only condition I have is that it should be available to many collectors, so coins like the 1921 50c, or the 1911 Silver $1 are not going to appear on this list. Here they are in no particular order
1884 large cent obv 1. -- You'll only see 2 or 3 certified examples of this on eBay any given YEAR.
1913 Broad Leaf 10 cent -- Good luck finding any grade above a well worn scrub
1858 1 cent -- Low mintage first year coin, it will always be popular in any grade
1858 20 cent -- an oddball coin from the first year, it is a must own
1890H 50c -- what's not to like, it's big, it's silver, it's old, and it's hard to find.
1921 5c -- I'm not a fan of the small 5c silver coins, but this one catches my eye
1925 5c -- It narrowly beats out the 1926 far 6 in my mind because it can't be avoided in set collecting, the '26 can be
1948 $1 -- Lowest mintage for any Canadian circulating coin, enough said
1932 50c -- A very underrated key date, hard to find in good condition, and has a mintage only a few hundred higher than the 1948 $1
1955 1c NSF -- I wanted to include an Elizabethan coin, and this is a great one, not to mention incredibly tough
Whether your agree or disagree, I think any one of us would be happy to own a collection with just these 10 coins.
