The Tear Bear.....My purpose for writing this guide is to tell people a little bit about the tear bear.....there has been so much controversy surrounding this little piece of scrapbook history, but that is exactly what it is-HISTORY-the tear bear has been around for years....not only in crafting, but in school classrooms, college classrooms, the internet, and so much more....there can also be another meaning for the words "tear bear" I am not sure what or who makes and sells the figurine, but it is called a "TEAR BEAR" meaning there is a tear running down the bears cheek....very cute.....so anyway the tear bear is a wonderful thing and a wonderful way to scrapbook memories for years to come.
Here is a picture of a basic tear bear, it is made into a flower, one that I have made before and sold.
It is made out of mulberry paper that is handmade in some other country :0) Thailand or somewhere, I do not sell the paper, I buy it from a seller here on ebay....anyway you wet and tear the paper using YOUR OWN patterns or drawings.....you then let the paper dry and assemble your bear giving it a face with nose and eyes and you can detail the bear anyway you want to....THERE are SO MANY Sellers on ebay and every single one of them has their own way the do THEIR bears....NO TWO are exactly alike....I have patterns, but I DO NOT use them....I freehand my bears and tear.....they are similar, but no two are exactly alike and that is what makes them UNIQUE to me!
Now as for the animals....they are basically the same type of thing.....there are many many different types of tear animals that can be made....here are a few examples of some that I have made....cows, pigs, cats, dogs, mice, bunnies, family pets, hampsters, birds, and so much more!
Also another thing that has developed from the tear bear is a thing called peek-a-boo bears or animals and or bear heads and paws.....I call them animal or bear heads and paws and I do zoo, farm, bears, and any other that you can think of.....here is an example....now these are graduation heads and paws, but you get the picture :0)
Okay I think that this pretty much sums it up....any and all items can be found in my store, if not the exact items something similar can be found or you can just ask me to make it for you....if anyone has any other questions or comments feel free to contact me through ebay and HAPPY SCRAPBOOKING to you all!
