I embarked upon a journey to seek out the best possible pliers and cutters for something I've been doing with crummy tools for years. I found out that there are literally thousands of types of pliers and cutters out there to overwhelm you. Digging deeper into the text I find that people are suggesting that Beadsmith is a standard dependable and affordable brand, most German made pliers are precision made and for the die hard jeweler Lindstrom is Well Worth Every Penny! Skeptically because of the price I bought 3 pair. I purchased round nose (Smallest Tips of any Pliers on the Market), flat chain nose and bent chain nose RX series Lindstrom pliers and they have lived up to everything everyone has raved about them. Lindstrom Pliers are expensive but if your using your tools everyday and these will last you years you'll get your moneys worth. The Lindstrom RX series will keep you from marring your wires and will save you from sore wrists. As for cutters CHP-170 cuts mega flush and is certainly affordable. The CHP-170 flush cutters are actually for electrical work. Both the Lindstrom and the CHP-170 have certain gauge/mm maximums that should be carefully consider before purchasing and both can be found on eBay.
